Christmas

Christmas Eve!

We made a gramcracker train!

It was a work of art that looked like a 3rd grader had made.

Then for the first time ever we got Christmas Eve jammies.

Christmas Day!

We open presents! Katie recieved many house hold items, and now realizes why mom was always so happy to get items such as can openers for Christmas. Lauren got photo shop for her computer, and Emily recieved a gift certificate for her and a friend to have their nails done.

Special thanks to Tamera and Shea for my headband! I Love it!

Crazy Day

I had an ice skating accident.
But let me start at the beginning, this is how our day went...

10:00- i wake up and sort my laundry because today would be the first day i would do my own laundry.

11:00- i put my laundry in. Meanwhile dad is working on plumbing. The plumbing gets backed up and we have to stop the laundry while it is in the washing machine.

12:00- i finish my laundry and got ready for my friends ice skating party.

1:00- mom drives me over there and thinks to herself "the last thing we need today is a broken arm. "

2:00- A parent at the party calls home to tell my mom exactly wat she didnt want to hear. That I fell and broke my arm.

3:00- We Drive to the hospital

4:00-6:00- we wait....and wait...until they finally call my back to check my arm.
meanwhile dad is still working on the plumbing and Lauren sacrifies her evening to make dinner for the guests we were planning to have for dinner.

6:30- We arrive home from the hospital with a splint on my arm, yes it is broken. Dad willingly feeds our guests and all goes smoothly while we were gone.

7:00- Our guest leave and we call a plumber to fix our toliets which were still clogged.

7:30- the plumber accidentally shatters our toliet and says he will give us a brand new one for free the next day.

This is just how life goes. It was a crazy day, but by the end of the day we were all laughing.

Right before we went to the hospital I was sitting on the couch in pain and dad whipped out the camera.

The emormous bump on my arm...gross

The x ray lady gave me a sticker!

It didnt take long for my cast to be filled with signatures.

I carved the stick of butter into a heart

And Dad and I competed to see who can create the best tower out of the napkin holders.

Congress is in Session

We sent Lauren away to military camp for the weekend. -actually she was at a Youth and Government camp at Fort Roberts or affectionantly known as "Bob 1". She spent the week learning about state government, electing delegates and officers in preparation for her upcoming week in Sacremento. Lauren hopefully will be appointed as a Legislative Analyst. There were over 2000 kids that participated in this camp. The Governor came to speak to them...but it wasn't Arnold (it was the youth Governor who was elected last year).

These are the barracks they lived in.

This is the convention hall where all the political speeches were made.

A Perfect Paper

In my math class at school my teacher rewards us in a unique way. He used to be a brick layer, so when we get everything correct on a quiz including the bonus he calls it a perfect paper, then we recieve a gold paper brick. You write your name on this paper brick and he puts the bricks up on his walls arranged like real bricks. If you earn 5 gold bricks then you recieve a shiny silver one, this one stays up on his wall forever.

Trick or Treat

For Halloween Lauren and myself had our own parties to go to, so mom and dad had a peaceful evening without us. I was Hannah Montana and my best friend was lola! Lauren went in disguise as herself.

Heres my pumpkin i carved. And yes, it does have a stylish hat because the top wouldnt fit back into where i had cut.

Me as Hannah Montana.

Rise and Shout

We went to a BYU vs. San Diego State game. We went to the tail gate party and bought lots of BYU "stuff" and Lauren and her friend got their faces painted.

We walked into the stadium fully equipped from head to toe in our new BYU shirts and hats.

We baked in the sun while sitting in the staduim.

Cosmo!

The team huddles right before we take the victory.

26.2

Not only was it a marathon for dad but it was a marathon for the whole family. It took us an extra hour and a half just to get out of LA, and we arrived in St George at midnight. Dad had to get up at three in the morning to get ready for the marathon, while the rest of us slept in.

Bridger and Kenzie entertain themselves by playing in the red dirt as we waited for dad to run by.

There he is! Run Barry Run!

We congratulate him at the finish line. He ran in in 4 hours and 46 minutes.

We retreat back to our vacation house that we shared with Erics family.

Katie got to hold her first frog that night.

Enjoying ourselves in the pool.

Spending time with the cousins.

First Day!

Yesterday was the first day of school. It is always the best day of the entire year because you are only educated in where you sit, what you are allowed to touch in the classroom, what's off limits, and where the bathrooms are. You are told to "get to know" your friends in your classes and you don't have to run in PE. No homework or classwork. By far this is the most fun day of school. But the first day is always followed by the second day of school which is not all fun and games.....time to hit the books!

Say your Goodbyes

Katie leaves for Utah Valley University. yay!!!!!!!

Katie and her room mate Christina

Looks like they brought everything they own!
We had to put all the seats down to fit everything.

Bye Bye katie! We will miss you!

While driving side by side all the way to Utah Katie kept sneaking pictures of mom and dad!
So they drove up beside her and started taking pictures of them!
